Application Note #117: Calibration and use of an RF Amplifier reflected RF sample port
This Application Note outlines and describes the calibration and use of an RF Amplifier reflected RF sample port.
The reflected sample port on IFI amplifiers has several uses while performing testing. This optional feature of a reflected RF sample port can be used to measure reflected power. Utilizing the reflected sample port is a way to accurately quantify the actual reflected power from a test setup whether it is for component related testing or testing into anechoic or mode tuned chambers. The reflected sample port allows for testing at safe power levels that are typically 40 to 60 dBc depending on customer specification. Knowing the reflected power can be useful in determining if there is an issue with the test setup or the test setup equipment.
